Bowmore No. 1

Bowmore No. 1 is a premium single malt Scotch whisky from the Bowmore Distillery on the Isle of Islay. It is the distillery's oldest and most sought-after expression. This whisky is made from malted barley, which is then fermented and distilled on copper pot stills. The whisky is then matured in two types of oak barrels, both American bourbon and sherry, for a minimum of twelve years. The result is a smooth, rounded and flavorful whisky with a sweet and smoky finish. Bowmore No. 1 is golden amber in color and has a nose of honey, toffee and vanilla. On the palate, the whisky is thick and creamy, with notes of dried fruit, peat and a hint of spice. The finish is long and smooth with a lingering smokiness. Bowmore No. 1 is an excellent whisky for sipping neat or on the rocks. For those who prefer cocktails, this whisky is an excellent base ingredient for creations such as an Old Fashioned or Rob Roy.
