Booker’s Small Batch Bourbon is a limited-edition small batch bourbon whiskey distilled in Kentucky. It is bottled at its natural, uncut proof of between 121 and 127 U.S. proof (60.5–63.5% alcohol content). The whiskey is aged for 6 to 8 years in charred white oak barrels and is made with a “sour-mash” process of fermentation in which each new batch of mash uses part of the starter mash used in the previous batch to ensure consistency. Booker’s is named in honor of master distiller Booker Noe, who began the brand and created the signature flavor profile that is still used today. The brands master distillers work in two teams, releasing four batches throughout the year in order to keep the whiskey’s flavor profile consistent. Each barrel of Booker’s whiskey is tasted and blended by hand to create a signature flavor profile for each batch that often features notes of sweet caramel, toffee, vanilla, dried fruit, leather and spice.
