Bundaberg Rum is a large-scale Australian Rum distinguished by its exceptionally smooth finish. It was founded in 1888 and is considered the world's best-known rum brand. This classic rum is brewed exclusively in the Bundaberg Region, Australia, which gives it its robust flavor and full-bodied aroma. Bundaberg Rum is known for its iconic dark reddish-brown hue and smooth, rich taste that comes from aging in oak barrels for at least three years. Bundaberg Rum is considered a premium rum, for both its quality and its distinctively robust flavor. It is an essential in cocktails, particularly popular with the Mojito. The finish is crisp and incredibly smooth, making for an easy to drink rum even with a high respective ABV. It is generally bottled in a dark, round-shouldered bottle and its classic label is heavily embossed and sealed with red wax. Bundaberg Rum is said to have origins rooted from 1855 when a man named Clarence Woolf arrived in the area and began distilling some of the local rum. The name of the brand was later established in 1888 and production continued in the same family-run facility until 1917 when it was sold to a larger company.
