Highland Park Cask Strength 2022

Highland Park Cask Strength is a single malt Scotch whisky brand from Orkney, Scotland. It is the first of its kind in the world, as it is the only single malt from Orkney that is bottled at cask strength. Bottled with no added water, Highland Park Cask Strength is a true reflection of the distillery’s wood, yeast and spirit character, captured in its unique cask strength form. This particular expression is an upcoming release, with its first bottling in 2022, aged in refill sherry hogsheads for 10 years. The nose of Highland Park Cask Strength will have notes of honey, vanilla, heather, and smoke, as well as some fruity peat. The sweetness of the honey and vanilla is balanced by the smoky/salty notes of the peat. Hints of peat smoke, bittersweet heather, and some earthy spice notes will be present on the palate. Taste will also have notes of sweet oak, dried fruit, malty cereal, sherry, and a light hint of honey and spices. The finish is complex and long-lasting, with some lingering notes of malt, smoke, and heather.
