Mezcal Derrumbes Tamaulipas

Derrumbes as a brand is a journey through Mexico via mezcal, with each expression hand-selected to represent a different state's history, traditions and terroir. Owned by Esteban Morales, one of the country's premier experts on agave spirits, with a true curiosity and dedication to the traditions of agave spirits. Tamaulipas lies on the Eastern coast of Mexico, and borders the southern tip of Texas. Sadly with the current state of affairs in the state, due to ongoing violence, it is difficult for the CRM to schedule appointments to give this mezcal the stamp of certification, and thus Casa Endemica and the producer have chosen to label this expression simply as a Spirit Distilled From Agave, despite being made within the Denomination of Origin, and produced as a mezcal would be. The use of agave Funkiana stays true to it's name, and offers a surprisingly juicy, punchy and bright aroma and flavour to the spirit.
