Arran Malt Quarter Cask - The Bothy Series is a special limited edition Scotch whisky from the Isle of Arran Distillery in Scotland. The whisky was designed to capture the essence of a traditional bothy, which is a humble hut or shack in the countryside used by shepherds and smugglers in the past. The whisky is a single malt aged in ex-bourbon quarter casks for 10 years, before being transferred to another set of ex-bourbon quarter casks for an additional 9 months of maturation. The effect of the second cask aging is unique, imparting an intense and creamy texture without overwhelming the whisky’s rich traditional flavor.

The Bothy series is an homage to the bygone era of Scottish distilleries. The traditional whisky of Arran remained faithful to the original recipes and techniques of these early producers while embracing modern aging and bottling techniques. The result is a whisky that has an incredibly complex and sophisticated aroma and flavor profile. On the nose, intense notes of sweet toffee, mocha, and honeycomb are balanced with woody and smoky characters.
